off season clinics
We plan an annual spring clinic open to Lightning and non-Lightning athletes. Information will be posted on the homepage.
Registration
Registration for the upcoming season will open in May for returning athletes and June for new athletes.
Parent meeting and jersey fitting
Parent meeting will be early June which will include important information for the season. Specific date will be sent out in email after you register for the season.
gear shop
The Lightning Gearshop will be open twice. Once in the summer before the season begins and again the first couple of weeks.
Practices
Practices start the first week in August and run through October. Practice will be held at UBT Sports Complex, a newer facility with all the equipment we need to ensure top-quality training for our athletes. Practices will be at the same time for all teams this year on Tuesday/Thursday evenings from 6-8 pm. There may some exceptions; always double-check the calendar at the bottom of the page for specifics.
High School Girls Tryouts will be the last Tuesday and Thursday in July. These tryouts are simply to determine which High School team your athlete will be placed on; we do NOT turn girls away based on skill. 8th graders are welcome to come try out for a JV team, if they do not make a JV team they will play on a Junior High team.
Junior High girls begin practices the first week in August. There are no tryouts for Junior High teams.
Boys begin official practices the first week of August with four optional practices in July.
Omaha volleyball classic
In September, on the weekend after Memorial Day, we host our annual Omaha Volleyball Classic tournament. We expect everyone in the program to contribute whether that be helping take admission, assisting in the preparation and planning, or simply coming and cheering our teams on! This is a great opportunity to get to know one another and connect with the other teams.
year-end celebration
After the season is over, we will join together for our last hurrah! Food, speeches, and games will fill the night as we reflect back on the season and spend one last night together… until next year!
